As mobile devices become more and more an integral part of our daily lives, it is an interesting activity to actually stop and think about what could be the next potential tangent.
Computers and mobiles are becoming merging more and more, bringing forth the notion of the « mobile computer » and of, you guessed it, « mobile computing ». We find ourselves in a world where one’s no longer chained to a desk in order to have access to personal data. Much of it is stored in the cloud nowadays anyway. Less and less people are buying desktop computers, favouring them for laptops and netbooks. As the computing landscape mutates away from furniture-sized apparatus and becomes more wearable, I often wonder how we’ll be interacting with computers and mobiles in the coming years.
About 2 years ago, Nokia Research Center produced the following concept video, spotlighting mixed reality interfaces, gaze-tracking eyeglasses and seamless integration with the dwelling.
